STRATEGY GAMEPLAY

Gameplay begins with players setting up their individual dungeon maps by strategically placing room, monster, and treasure tiles face down. Players alternate turns, either purchasing essential upgrades from the inn or venturing their adventuring party into their opponent’s dungeon to battle monsters and steal precious loot markers.

Money (copper, silver, gold) is crucial for acquiring Adventurer upgrades and hiring specialists to bolster your party’s combat prowess. Combat is resolved through high-stakes dice rolls, but clever resource management allows players to utilize “Divine Pity Markers.” These essential markers can be earned by gutlessly retreating, and then spent to strategically boost your dice rolls in future decisive battles.

The ultimate goal is to accumulate the highest Victory Point total. VPs are earned through conquering explored rooms, claiming treasure bonuses, and converting excess gold at the end of the game. Furthermore, any unexplored or unclaimed tiles left in your dungeon award the owner VPs, adding a critical layer of risk management when determining what treasures to leave unguarded.
